My Story
From Wheelchair to Wellbeing Warrior
Pushing Through – Until My Body Pushed Back
I’ve always been driven—a classic Type A, perfectionist, people-pleaser. As a scholarship student, I threw myself into everything, believing success meant never slowing down.
But my body had other plans. Repeated illnesses—tonsillitis, glandular fever and post-viral fatigue—left me drained by my A-Levels. I sat exams in the school nurse’s office, writing for an hour then napping before the next paper. Still, I pushed on, travelling in my gap year, only to return home early, sick.
Two weeks into university, a doctor casually mentioned my M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome diagnosis—something I hadn’t even been told I had. I struggled through my first year before everything crashed.
The Lowest Point
For six months, I was bedbound, unable to do even the simplest tasks. My mum had to bathe and dry my hair. My brain was foggy, my body ached and I spent most of my 21st birthday asleep. I started using a wheelchair to get me out of the house but I was drowning in exhaustion and hopelessness.
Searching for Answers
Desperate, I tried everything—GPs, specialists, supplements, food sensitivity testing. The recommended CBT/GET treatments only made me worse. I turned to alternative therapies: homeopathy, Reiki, Bowen therapy… and finally, kinesiology.
The Turning Point
Kinesiology changed everything. It helped me understand my stress responses, food sensitivities and adrenal health. It gave me a roadmap for healing. With time and support, I returned to university and graduated.
But life wasn’t done testing me. I relapsed, let go of my law school dreams and faced overwhelming uncertainty about my future.
Diving into the London Hustle
Over time as my health improved, I threw myself into work. I set my sights on advertising in London, eager to prove that I was back—that I could live fully again after years of illness. In my determination to make up for lost time, I ignored the incredible benefits that kinesiology had already introduced into my life.
I truly enjoyed my work but ignored the toll of the 12-hour days, relentless stress and poor nutrition. My body decided for me and rebelled. I was offered a seat on the Tube more times than I care to remember—my IBS left me so bloated, I looked pregnant. It was an uncomfortable issue, made worse by hormonal imbalances of PCOS and later fertility struggles—yet another sign that my body was desperately trying to tell me something.
Then, at 28, my world shattered—my dad passed away suddenly, triggering another M.E. relapse.
The burnout cycle had to stop.
I left London, moved home to the South West and turned back to kinesiology—not just for healing, but as a path forward.
Finding My True Path
I trained in kinesiology to understand myself better, but soon realised I had a natural gift. Everything lit up inside me and I knew I could help others.
Determined to prevent others from experiencing what I had, I broadened my studies into any and everything related to improving and rebalancing health—mind, body and soul:
🔹 Naturopathic nutrition
🔹 Mental health training, suicide and self-harm prevention
🔹 Counselling, EFT & positive psychology coaching
I once thought meditation was for incense-burning yogis, but as I explored it, I found peace. The monkey brain finally stopped chattering incessantly. More than anything, I began tuning in to what my body needed.
Simply pausing to ask, “What do I really need right now?” became life-changing. Sure, sometimes the answer really was chocolate (!) but other times, it was as simple as, "I need to stay in and rest," or "I need to get these thoughts out of my head” when journaling helped. Slowly, I regained control of my body, mind and life.
A Holistic Approach
By now, I had built an incredibly rewarding practice with loyal clients. However I noticed my work evolved. Clients weren’t just coming for a quick fix—they returned for regular check-ins, to rebalance their body and mind, and to adjust nutrition, lifestyle and mindset habits.
My approach became deeply holistic:
✨ Nutrition – identifying trigger foods, nourishing meal planning, vitamin and mineral testing, supplement support
✨ Lifestyle shifts – improving relaxation, movement, hydration, bedtime routine
✨ Mindset work – reducing self-doubt, increasing confidence, using tapping & affirmations
It became so much more than a treatment—it was a journey that I could facilitate for them.

Fun Facts
I always have two books on the go: something to do with wellbeing or personal development, and a good crime fiction or rom com to go to sleep with.
For someone with so much knowledge of nutrition, chocolate and cake are always included in my diet - I’m all about the balance! Oh and my cat Hendricks is named after the gin, not the musician!
Physically, I feel gratitude every time I get to move my body, be that playing for my local netball team, training for sprint triathlons or enjoying the freedom of an early morning run with my dog along the beach
I believe there should be a day of the week dedicated to self-care - long hot baths, aromatherapy, reading, meditation – whatever boosts your spirits should be enjoyed regularly.
